Gestational diabetes is a form of diabetes that occurs during pregnancy, among women who were not diabetic previously; approximately 4% of expectant women are diagnosed with it yearly. In gestational diabetes, the level of sugar in the blood gets abnormally high, and poses great risk to the developing baby.

Regular exercising helps blood to carry glucose to the cells of the body, and helps the body to utilize the insulin supply efficiently. Moderate physical activity works wonders even in women who weren't previously involved in any form of exercise programs. It is worthwhile to say that low impact exercise is a healthy and natural way, to keep blood glucose levels low.
